Being a Mexican from Los Angeles, it was really hard to find a good, real Mexican food restaurant here. It isn't my favorite, but it was pretty good for being in the Springs. I was quite shocked when I ate the food and actually enjoyed it. Another thing about it that I was shocked about was the customer service. For those of you who know what I'm talking about when I say that a good Mexican restaurant hardly ever has good customer service (Mexicans aren't the friendliest but they make the best food so we forgive them). But this restaurant had amazing customer service. The salsa bar was pretty tasty with a variety to choose from and the prices were affordable (most Mexican places are). I would definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant to anyone who is stuck in the Springs and is craving Mexican food.

This is a nice little storefront cafe, pleasant for lunch, and a very good value. I had the Panchito Burrito which was top notch. The sauce was excellent. The salsa bar is a nice touch and the red and green that I tried were quite good. Alas, the sides (beans and rice) were uninspired, and the lack of alcohol means this won't be a regular stopping place for me. Being a grownup, I gotta have my Negra Modelo with the burrito.

Very very good authentic mexican food. They have carnitas which were wonderful. My husband finished them. I had chilaquiles verdes con pollo. The rice and beans are good. Cute little salsa bar, good variety. I would recommend this anytime. Service was friendly.

Had a fabulous lunch today with the family. We had several different meals between all of us and all of them were very good. I had the Carne Asade Pablano and it was one of the best Carne Asade plates I have had.

Soo good! Had the burrito grande with shredded chicken, to-go. They gave us to-go cups for the fresh salsa bar as well. Will definitely go back.

We stopped and ate here on our way to the airport. We really didn't want mexican but we had no choice because we were about to eat each other we were so hungry. Breakfast tacos are HUGE and delicious! The beef burrito and the bean burrito were also giant and delicious! Tasted authentic! Wish I could eat here everyday!

meh. my first visit. the special: 2 cheese enchiladas and rice takeout Sat noonish. portion was way too small for the price and my order was ready too fast which makes me suspect a microwave even though I asked before ordering if they used microwaves (so I could turn around and leave) and was told "No." food was bland. the ambience was nice for eating in but if you yelpers think this is good Mexican food I'm sorry for you. it was mediocre at best. I had confidence that the food was fresh and I wouldn't get sick (but I don't order beans anymore). I most probably will never go back. for my restaurant dollar I need a real chef or experienced cook in the kitchen.

Had the avocado burrito. It was huge! Lots of sauce and delicious with the carnitas. I also had a side of pinto beans. The salsa's at the salsa bar are great. Would def return!

The lady who owns the place is super nice, and the service is very attentive. Nice homey atmosphere with tacky-in-a-good-way decor. They have a salsa bar(!) and the food is great. A nice little hole-in-the-wall we'll be going back to.

I used to go the one on South Academy and airport, now on maizrland road and Academy, even better close to my house.. one of my favorite meals are the shrimp coctel and street tacos whit the salsa they have on the salsa bar, not without mentioning the creamy guacamole sauce, people are friendly and service was awesome.... I really recommend

My family stops in here on a fairy regular basis and are never disappointed. I've tried most of the burrito plates and enchilada plates along with the tamales and it's impossible to pick what I would declare my favorite.

Takeout carnitas tacos were average. I was in the area and craving tacos so I stopped by to see what all the Yelpers were raving about. The waiter/host was nice, but I really came to see this salsa bar which must be located in the back and only for dine-in as I was charged $4.99 for chips and salsa. When adding gratuity I would expect a little more rice/bean volume for $18 (carnitas tacos+chips/salsa+gratuity). The carnitas were okay, but pretty greasy; just glad I paid for the extra salsa or they would not have had much flavor. I'm curious about the great reviews for the dine-in; as with most take out places the food just isn't as great coming from a styrofoam container...will give the dine-in a try sometime though.

The food was good and so were the prices! The server was very kind, professional, and had great manners. I will go back! I was surprised it was so dead when I we went. Give them a chance!

Delicious guacamole! I had the enchallada special and it was awesome. You get a lot of food for how inexpensive it is. The waiter was very nice as well. He checked on us often even though he was the only one waiting tables at the time.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
